Mission 21 is in direct contact with 70 partner churches and organisations all over the world. It finances more than 100 projects in 21 countries. The long-term relationships Mission 21 cultivates with its partners originated in the missionary work of the three supporting associations (Basel Mission, Evangelical Mission in the Kwango, Moravian Church) during the last centuries and are partly more than 100 years old. The partners of Mission 21 are independent today.

Mission 21 is connected to the oldest partner churches of the Basel Mission – now Mission 21, protestant mission basel – in Ghana and India through the Association of Churches and Missions in South-Western Germany (EMS) in Stuttgart.
The responsibility for the project in Palestine and for one of the projects in South Africa lies with churches and organisations that have a direct connection to the Moravian Mission Society (Herrnhuter Missionshilfe HMH) in Bad Boll, Germany.
