On the International Day of Peace, 21 September, we celebrate the launch of this year's peace campaign. Mission 21, in cooperation with the parish of Kleinbasel, will inform about its peace work and encourage people to participate.
On the same day, the annual pumpkin market brings many people directly to St. Matthew's Church in Basel. Tobias Dietrich, social deacon of the parish of Kleinbasel, has planned several activities. In the basement of the church, Mission 21's films on peace work in South Sudan and Indonesia will be shown. A vigil in the crypt gives visitors the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of the market and to seek their own personal peace in silence and pray for peace. On the wall you can write down your wishes for peace for others.
Take advantage of the International Peace Day on 21 September or the Sunday after in your parish. Draw attention to current conflicts and show what peace work can do worldwide.
