CA, Christian Action, Hong Kong
For over 15 years, Christian Action (CA), a non-government organisation, has collaborated with the Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong (TTM) and Mission 21 to operate a counselling and support service for female Indonesian migrants working as domestic employees in Hong Kong. They are frequently exploited or sexually abused by their employers. They are given legal and moral assistance; if necessary, they can find refuge in CA's emergency reception centre, and they can continue their education by attending language or computer courses. CA is excellently networked with consulates and other NGOs as well as churches. In the future, the aim is also to cooperate more closely with Indonesian institutions so that the Indonesian migrants will receive better support before and after they emigrate.
