CTE, Theological Evangelical Community of Chile
The CTE aims to promote theological training in Chile's Evangelical churches. It offers teaching aimed at pastors, laypersons and professionals with the objective of advancing their theological expertise. In an Evangelical environment that is largely conservative and fundamentalist in character, the CTE's educational programmes place particular emphasis on an ecumenically-oriented theology that is relevant to Chilean society. An agreement has been in place since 2016 with the Catholic University of Valparaiso (PUCV) which enables the CTE to award a government-recognised degree in Evangelical theology (as the only college authorised to do so). Collaboration with Mission 21 began in 1985 in the form of financial support and through secondment of ecumenical co-workers to assist the teaching staff.
