PRDA, Presbyterian Relief and Developement Agency

Since 1992, the PRDA (Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency) has been the independent development department of the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan (PCOSS), a partner church of Mission 21. It is officially recognised as a non-government organisation by the United Nations and the governments of Kenya and South Sudan. The principal focus of its work was initially on emergency aid for the civilian population suffering as a result of the civil war. After the war ended in 2005, the PRDA took on the additional remits of providing care for the large numbers of returning refugees and rebuilding the devastated country. Agriculture, healthcare and education are the key points. Since mid-2004, Mission 21 has primarily supported the PRDA's agricultural and medical projects.
