Ever since South Sudan – the world's youngest state – was founded, it has been afflicted by conflicts and unrest. Given this context, the country is particularly in need of strong institutions that will strengthen society so that the economy and the state can be rebuilt. The Giffen Institute offers:

  • training courses in peace promotion (including trauma and reconciliation work)

  • education on HIV/AIDS

  • training in carpentry skills

  • scholarships for students

  • English courses
