Programme development and coordination in South Sudan
In order to ensure that the involvement of Mission 21's partners in South Sudan produces the desired impact, the partner organisations are trained in organisational and employee development. There is a particular need here for basic and continuing training on project and programme management (planning, reporting and accounting). Dorina and Mathias Waldmeyer, Mission 21's Coordinators for South Sudan, meet this need by organising regular ongoing training activities with the local Responsible Project Officers, as well as providing them with advice and support for their work. The coordination function acts as a bridge between the partner organisations in South Sudan and Mission 21 in Basel.
The remit includes these activities:
Programme management (planning, monitoring and evaluation)
Maintaining relations with and supporting the partner organisations, especially as regards capacity development (i.e. ongoing development of skills needed for their work)
Public relations work
