The 2018 Mission Synod in Aarau

This year, Mission 21's international parliament will convene in Aarau, at the invitation of the Reformed Church of Aargau Canton (Reformierten Landeskirche Aargau). Exciting events will take place around 2018 Mission Synod from Wednesday 13 June to Sunday 17 June. "Warmly (un)welcome!" is the provocative motto for our examination and discussion of issues related to migration, flight and persecution. All the events are open to the public.


International Women's Conference 2018

At Mission 21's international women's conference, experts from four continents discussed the topics of migration, flight and persecution. The conference was a strong prelude to the preliminary program of the Mission Synod 2018 in Aarau.

European Continental Assembly (CAE)

How will migration change the future? This question was at the heart of Mission 21's European Continental Assembly meeting.

Theme evening on migration

After a wide range of workshops on flight and migration, these topics were deepened with a lecture and a panel discussion on the first day of the Synod.

Mission Synod 2018

The two synod days featured a tight program, in between the guests could enjoy the breaks in sunny Aarau. The participation of the numerous youth ambassadors, was particularly pleasing.

Youth Summit

Young adults from all over the world met at the Youth Summit of young@mission21. In workshops, the topics of migration and flight were discussed, which were carried out by volunteers, local and international experts.

Mission and City Church Festival

Several hundred guests visited on Sunday the service in the city church and the colourful mission and city church festival in the old town of Aarau at the end of the synod week of Mission 21.
