The 2019 Mission Synod

For the 10th Mission Synod, the international community of Mission 21 met in Basel from 26 to 30 June. We had the pleasure of welcoming numerous participants to the public events. Several events focused on current development cooperation issues. A highlight was the festive farewell of the director of Mission 21, Claudia Bandixen, on the Day of Friendship and Encounter. The divine service with the inauguration of the new director Jochen Kirsch on Sunday and the following Mission Festival were joyous as well. This year the Synod worked on the main theme "Open up and become ... peace ... justice ...". The next Synod will take place on 12/13 June, the Mission Festival on 14 June 2020.
