The great poverty and violence mean that the everyday lives of the population are characterized by many conflicts. Women and children are particularly affected. A ray of hope in their everyday lives are the workshops supported by Mission 21 on conflict prevention and peacebuilding, as well as psychosocial support, which is more important than ever.<\/p>\n\t\t<h3>\"Thanks to training, we harvest more and healthier vegetables and can keep our soil fertile.\"<\/h3><p>Elva Apaza Quispe, farmer from Peru<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mission-21.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/ernaehrungssouveraenitaet-la-story-elva_q-1-300x300-circle-da85a9c87f7f8e7849291075f8e09a92-.jpg\" alt=\"food sovereignty la, story elva\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"300\" width=\"300\" title=\"Food Sovereignty LA, Story Elva\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading='lazy' \/>\n\t<p>Elva and her family of eight live in the high Andes at almost 4,000 meters above sea level. The land is barren and difficult to farm. Our local partner organization supports Elva Apaza with further training in sustainable agriculture. She learned how to grow more diverse crops and produce organic fertilizer in a small greenhouse. Today, Elva Apaza harvests enough vegetables to provide her family with regular, healthy meals.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mission-21.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/bb-plugin\/cache\/img_0529-300x300-circle-90627cb7a8e2417caa28660eae843fbe-.jpg\" alt=\"img 0529\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"300\" width=\"300\" title=\"img_0529\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading='lazy' \/>\n\t\t<h3>\"I have learned a lot and will pass it on to others.\"<\/h3><p>Ladi Zachariah, farmer from Nigeria<\/p>\n\t<p>Ladi Zachariah lives in north-eastern Nigeria. She plants beans, peanuts and maize, but the harvests are poor because global warming is causing more frequent droughts and more severe flooding. Thanks to educational opportunities offered by Mission 21's local partner organizations, Ladi Zachariah is supplementing traditional knowledge with agroecological methods. This enables her to harvest more from healthier soils and feed her family better.<\/p>\n\n\t<h1>What we have achieved with our local partner organizations<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\">Peacebuilding<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\"  tabindex=\"0\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Together, we were able to empower women and girls in all areas. This includes safe spaces to exchange ideas, share and process experiences and build each other up. We also provide women and girls with valuable training and further education and support them in building economic independence.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\">Agroecology<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\"  tabindex=\"0\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Thanks to our partner organizations, more than 6,000 people in the High Andes are already receiving training in agroecology and ecological water management - important building blocks for greater climate justice.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-2\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-2\">Solar pumps, water tanks, tree nurseries<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-2\"  tabindex=\"0\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>In Tanzania, we set up two more solar pumps and water tanks with our partner organizations in 2024. There is now a reliable supply of fresh, clean drinking water for around 3,500 inhabitants at five locations, which contributes to climate justice. The pumps also irrigate three tree nurseries, which form an important basis for reforestation.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-3\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-3\">Greenhouses<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-3\"  tabindex=\"0\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>More and more greenhouses are being built or renovated in Bolivia and Peru. For example, 32 greenhouses financed by the state and lying fallow were reactivated in 2023. Thanks to this renovation and agroecological knowledge, another 32 families can now grow and harvest healthy vegetables and fruit.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-4\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-4\">Reforestation and energy-efficient cooking stoves<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-4\"  tabindex=\"0\"><i title=\"Expand\">Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>In Nigeria, more than 500 farmers receive training in agroecology, reforestation and the use of natural resources every year. We also provide training and support for the construction of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly cooking stoves.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mission-21.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/logo_m21-de-weiss_20160310_vv-900x300.png\" alt=\"logo m21 en white 20160310 vv\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"300\" width=\"900\" title=\"Logoo_m21 en white_20160310_VV\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading='lazy' \/>\n\t<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mission-21.org\/en\/\">Mission 21<\/a> is active in 15 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America as part of international cooperation for sustainable development and with humanitarian aid for peacebuilding, education, health, food sovereignty and gender equality.
