Those who communicate about international cooperation take responsibility - for the people who improve their livelihoods thanks to cooperation and for those who show solidarity.

We assume this responsibility by critically reflecting on the content of our communication and fundraising. This reflection involves a continuous learning process in which the people we communicate about are just as involved as those we address with our communication.

This is why Mission 21 has signed the "Manifesto for Responsible Communication", developed by Alliance Sud, together with over 25 other international cooperation organizations.

► Manifesto for responsible communication (PDF)

 begegnen

Current issue: encounter 1/2026

Nigeria unites the world - focus on World Day of Prayer 2026

On March 6, 2026, Christians in over 150 countries will celebrate the World Day of Prayer - prepared by women from Nigeria. The most populous country in Africa is characterized by cultural diversity, a great wealth of languages and traditions - and at the same time by deep contrasts: Poverty, violence, terror by armed groups, the rising cost of living and the consequences of climate change characterize the everyday lives of many people.
Women and children are particularly affected. Many live as internally displaced persons in camps, have lost family members or are struggling for access to education and income. Mission 21«s partner organizations - including the Church of the Brethren (EYN) - provide humanitarian aid, enable vocational training, promote interreligious dialogue between Christians and Muslims and provide psychosocial support to women affected by violence. This creates prospects in a fragile environment.
Also in this issue: In Bolivia, greenhouses that promote food sovereignty and self-determination are growing at over 4,000 meters above sea level. Families are defying frost and drought with agroecological methods and empowering women in particular in new leadership roles.
Read more in the current issue of »begegnen".

The magazine "encounter" is Mission 21's donor magazine and is published four times a year.
