Those who communicate about international cooperation take responsibility - for the people who improve their livelihoods thanks to cooperation and for those who show solidarity.<\/p>\n<p>We assume this responsibility by critically reflecting on the content of our communication and fundraising. This reflection involves a continuous learning process in which the people we communicate about are just as involved as those we address with our communication.<\/p>\n<p>This is why Mission 21 has signed the \"Manifesto for Responsible Communication\", developed by Alliance Sud, together with over 25 other international cooperation organizations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mission-21.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/20240115_manifest_iza_kommunikation_dt.pdf\">\u25ba Manifesto for responsible communication (PDF)<\/a><\/p>\n<h2  id=\"begegnen\">\n\t\t\tbegegnen\t<\/h2>\n\t<iframe width=\"620px\" height=\"600px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yumpu.com\/de\/embed\/view\/KRg1tyaPNTlHq2SL\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"  allowtransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe>\n\t<h6>Current Issue: begegnen 2\/2026<\/h6>\n<p><strong>Demokratie st\u00e4rken &#8211; Hoffnung aus der Zivilgesellschaft<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In many places around the world, democracy and human rights are under pressure\u2014due to populism, polarization, and the misuse of religious narratives. Yet at the same time, there are people and organizations that refuse to back down. The new issue of \u00abbegegnen\u00bb sets out to find these voices.<\/p>\n<p>In Peru and Costa Rica, Mission 21\u00abs partner organizations, through the \u00bbFaith and Democracy\u00ab campaign, combine spirituality with a commitment to justice and human rights. Where fear is exploited, they rely on dialogue. Where people are meant to be silenced, they create spaces for expression. Coordinator Natalia Serrano sums it up: \u00bbFundamentalist discourses want us to remain silent. We must open up spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Nigeria, Mission 21 works with partner organizations and government actors to strengthen democratic participation from the grassroots level\u2014through educational projects, interfaith dialogue, and concrete support for victims of violence. And in Hong Kong, theological schools report on how they continue their work amid increasing political pressure\u2014quietly but persistently.<\/p>\n<p>Also in this issue: In Tanzania, an inclusive vocational training project enables young people in precarious living situations to earn state-recognized credentials. Baraka Peter is one of them: Today, he works as a pharmacist and supports his family\u2014a life that would hardly have been possible without this opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Read more in the current issue of \u00abbegegnen\u00bb.<\/p>\n\t<p>The magazine <strong>\"encounter\" <\/strong>is Mission 21's donor magazine and is published four times a year. The magazine contains information and stories about Mission 21's projects and the people behind them.<\/p>\n<p>The magazine is printed in Switzerland. Against the background of the political, economic and social conditions of the countries, the project booklet presents the country programs and the partner organizations on site. Information on the individual projects and on donating rounds off the overview. The project booklet is updated annually and is free of charge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important note: If you as a church congregation would like to support the work of Mission 21, especially projects within the framework of the Ecumenical Campaign, then payments must be transferred directly to Mission 21 since January 1, 2021 (donation account\/IBAN: CH58 0900 0000 4072 6233 2).
