On behalf of President Salva Kiir, troops bombed parts of the country and Vice President Riek Machar was placed under house arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The situation in South Sudan, where people are already confronted with hunger, violence and hundreds of thousands of refugees from neighboring Sudan, is very tense.
