In 2013-2018, a civil war raged in which child soldiers were also used by the conflict parties. Violence and weapons are still part of everyday life in South Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with editor Rahel K\u00f6lbener, Dorina Waldmeyer reports on the special situation in South Sudan, on Mission 21's projects, especially the promotion of education for children and young people and theological training for a change towards peace. The work is done together with the partner churches and organizations, because the churches are almost the only reliable organizations for the population.<\/p>\n<p>Also joining us from South Sudan is Father James Oyet Latansio, general secretary of the (ecumenical) Federation of South Sudanese Churches. He gives an impressive account of the crises that characterize South Sudan and the day-to-day challenges.
