Luzia Illiger reports on her work as a gynecologist at the hospital in Isoko<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luzia Illiger has been working as a gynecologist in the hospital in Isoko, Tanzania, for one and a half years. During this time, she has attended many births, helped mourn miscarriages and cared for newborns.
What she didn't expect was that there would be so many C-sections in Isoko. As a gynecologist, she is supposed to help reduce the rate of C-sections, says Luzia Illiger. Nevertheless, the decision for a C-section is sometimes made, although there are also reasons for a spontaneous birth. Why is that? Luzia Illiger explores this very complex question in her new newsletter. In addition, she describes impressions from the health stations that she regularly visits and allows further insights into her everyday life in Isoko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
