Simone Dollinger takes us with her right at the beginning of the video; we accompany her \"live\" through her residential neighborhood to her place of work, the theological university UBL. We get to see what it's like to be a pedestrian on the streets and how people live in this neighborhood of San Jos\u00e9, the capital of Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

Then we get to know teachers and students of the Universidad B\u00edblica Latinoamericana (UBL), hear about their goals and how they deal with the current everyday situation. The UBL attaches great importance to ecumenical openness, holistic spirituality and commitment to peace in its education - this becomes audible in the conversations.<\/p>\n

As a dedicated coordinator in Costa Rica<\/h3>\n

Simone Dollinger has been working as Mission 21 coordinator for the projects of our partner organizations in the Central American country since 2018. Her husband Angel Rom\u00e1n Lopez Dollinger also works as an international staff member of Mission 21, as a lecturer at the UBL.<\/p>\n

Together, they support the partner institutes in their goal of having students become \"Agents of Change,\" actors who work with sensitivity to gender equity, have an interest in environmental issues, and are generally oriented toward the \"Good Life\" for all.<\/p>\n

Further education - and help for migrants<\/h3>\n

The second visit, to the Departamento Ecum\u00e9nico de Investigaciones (DEI), shows this solidarity commitment very well. The DEI is also a partner organization of Mission 21. Church workers and people from social or political movements can receive further training at this research center. Currently, the DEI is also offering accommodation to migrants who have lost their jobs because of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

In addition to casual conversations about the eating habits in Costa Rica, we also learn more about this very concrete help that DEI offers: Together with Simone Dollinger, we also meet people who had to flee their homeland because of it and found refuge at DEI.<\/p>\n
