The May 1 attack on a mosque and market in Mubi claimed more than 80 lives, according to media reports. A few days before that, Boko Haram attackers tried to invade the city of Maiduguri but were repelled. This increase in violence is disturbing, Yakubu Joseph wrote in its statement. Mubi is just 18 kilometers from the headquarters of the EYN Church, Mission 21's partner church in Nigeria. Yakubu Joseph fears that the planned elections in February 2019 could lead to an increase in violence.<\/p>\n<p>The situation in Nigeria is complex.
