Noria Majaman is also working there. As a coordinator, she helps to ensure that women can continue their education and earn their own income. Mathias Waldmeyer spoke about this strong woman at the \"Encounters in Basel\" event.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Noria Majaman is an example for other women in the Sabah region in the Malaysian part of the island of Borneo. Mathias Waldmeyer describes her on the occasion as a personality who is eager to learn and to learn. Noria Majaman is a coordinator for Mission 21 and, together with the partner organization Pacos, ensures that women can learn handicrafts in courses and workshops. By selling their handicraft products, they can earn an income and gain independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Education is also the keyword for the second young woman portrayed in this round of talks, the now 18-year-old Popi from West Java, Indonesia. Despite her top grades, her parents wanted to prevent her from attending a secondary school - the family was poor. But two Mission 21 partner organizations convinced the parents and provided financial support. Popi was able to finish school and is now studying at a university in the provincial capital Bandung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two women presented by Mathias Waldmeyer as impressive examples of how Mission 21's commitment to gender justice is having an impact.
