The \"Pancasila Award\" is presented annually by the Indonesian government. It honors individuals or institutions that raise awareness for a pluralistic Indonesian nation. The term Pancasila describes five principles of the Indonesian constitution, including humanism, democracy, social justice and national unity. Pancasila also includes a religious component, according to which every citizen in predominantly Muslim Indonesia must belong to one of the five major world religions: Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism or Confucianism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the current Pancasila Awards goes to Rev. Gomar Gultom as an interfaith leader. Rev. Gultom is the president of the Indonesian Protestant Church Federation, PGI<\/a>. The CIP is a key partner of Mission 21, active in interfaith peacebuilding, the program to overcome violence against women, good governance, and disaster risk reduction, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The award was also given to another important partner organization of Mission 21, which is committed to interreligious dialogue and tolerance, among other things.
