Daniel Gloor has been teaching theology in Malaysia for almost twenty years. His students at the theological seminary in Sabah (STS<\/a>) are interested in teaching, but are hardly politically active, says the international staff member of Mission 21. The students in Latin America, whom he taught during a recent stay in Peru and Costa Rica, are quite different. \"Unlike the majority of my Malaysian students, the Peruvian students* have a strong political identity.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His trip to Latin America was a return for Daniel Gloor: From 2010 to 2013, he taught on behalf of the Basel Mission as a lecturer at the Universidad B\u00edblica Latinoamericana (UBL<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his new Newsletter <\/a>Daniel Gloor talks about his encounters in Latin America, which were exciting and not always harmonious. In some places, different theological views and the confrontation with theological and social issues contained some explosive material. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
