Living on good ground<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The architecture of the town church is characterized by symbols of nature and elements from the story of creation: Stars, soil and rock, water, light, trees and plants can be discovered in the church interior. In this way, the basis of our existence is always present in the church service. Its protection is the basis for secure nutrition and living together in peace. The ways in which the church contributes to this task can be heard in music, poetry, art and in exciting insights into the global network of churches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Texts<\/strong>The creation narrative from Genesis 1 combines the symbolism of nature in the city church with the global cooperation of the church. See and hear about water as the basis for all growth and development, about work under the earth and with the earth in mines and in agriculture, about sowing and harvesting, about the struggle for rights and peace. Projects by Blue Community, Mission 21, DM and HEKS bring the world into the city church, for example Peru, Bolivia and Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music<\/strong>Diverse and worldwide. Touching songs such as \"The Song of the Sea\", lyrical singing in a fascinating mixture of traditional West African melodies with jazz and choral songs such as \"The Earth Song\". With Andreas Allemann and Nadia Bacchetta (oboe and organ), World Arts from Mission 21 with Togolese singer Afi Sika Kuzeawu and the Kantorei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rev. Alexandra Flury-Sch\u00f6lch, Head of Studies at Mission 21, will read from contemporary literature by female authors from the African continent and link it to biblical texts and current issues and projects in international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On one of the evenings celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Reformed City Church, the focus will be on networking with the global church and the task of working for justice, the integrity of creation and peace.
