young@mission21
We are Mission 21's network for young adults. We are dedicated to cultural exchange among young adults from all over the world, and we strive to bring about a fairer world. Are you keen to gain experience with people from different cultural backgrounds, and to take action so that people can live together in fairness? Welcome to young@mission21!
As a youth ambassador, you'll meet other young people from all over the world, and you'll welcome them here in Switzerland. The Youth Ambassadors Programme brings young adults together from four continents (Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America).
In the first year of the two-year programme, European youth ambassadors travel to a Mission 21 project country in Africa, Asia or Latin America. In the following year, the youth ambassadors will host young people from that country. The participants will also be involved in the parliamentary structures of Mission 21 and experience the international community that unites Mission 21.
Update: Due to the corona pandemic, the programme is being extended by one year; originally, the trips abroad were planned for 2020. Provisional programme: In the summer of 2021, 18 young adults from Asia, Africa and Latin America will come to Switzerland. In 2022, the young adults from Switzerland will travel in groups to Asia, Africa and Latin America in the summer. There are still a few positions open, so send in your application: ► Email

Short assignments - Up and away
Take three months out to plunge into a project run by one of Mission 21's partner institutions, and gain enriching insights into social, cultural and religious facets of your host country.
Do you want to break away from your usual surroundings in Switzerland and experience a new way of living at first hand? On a short assignment, you'll discover what a foreign country is really like – away from the tourist hotspots. Are you open to new challenges (which could also be in a church context), are you between 18 and 22 years old, and do you speak adequate English? If so, please contact Barbara ►Email. We arrange joint preparatory and debriefing weekends to discuss your assignment.
Why not take part in PEP! – our Professionals Exposure Program? During an assignment to a project run by one of our partner institutions, you will deepen your specialist knowledge and develop your intercultural social skills.
Have you already completed your vocational training, or graduated from your studies, and would you like to continue your education abroad? For six to twelve months, you can have the chance to get to know and participate in work for a project run by one of Mission 21's partner institutions in Africa, Asia or Latin America. We understand 'continuing education' as meaning that you are assigned your own task area, for which you will be responsible.
