En Camer\u00fan, las mujeres y las ni\u00f1as se encuentran en situaci\u00f3n de desventaja debido a su condici\u00f3n jur\u00eddica subordinada, a su educaci\u00f3n a menudo deficiente y a su dependencia econ\u00f3mica de los hombres. Por ello, tienen menos posibilidades de protegerse del VIH y, por lo tanto, est\u00e1n expuestas a un mayor riesgo de infecci\u00f3n. Por este motivo, AI-ChrisWoV promueve grupos de autoayuda para el VIH, contribuye a los tratamientos m\u00e9dicos y al cuidado de los hu\u00e9rfanos, y defiende los derechos de las mujeres. El tema de la \u201eviolencia de g\u00e9nero\u201c (Gender Based Violence) tambi\u00e9n desempe\u00f1a un papel importante en diversas iniciativas y eventos de AI-ChrisWoV. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Desde el estallido de la crisis en las regiones angl\u00f3fonas, AI-ChrisWoV tambi\u00e9n participa en el programa de ayuda de emergencia de la Misi\u00f3n 21. Los desplazados internos se integran en los proyectos existentes y se les apoya con diversas medidas de formaci\u00f3n para que puedan volver a valerse por s\u00ed mismos en breve. Estas formaciones pueden ser tanto en el \u00e1mbito formal y oficial como en el informal y van desde breves cursos de inform\u00e1tica hasta una completa formaci\u00f3n en carpinter\u00eda. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n hay ayudas para otras medidas generadoras de ingresos en el \u00e1mbito de la producci\u00f3n de alimentos, la cr\u00eda de peque\u00f1os animales o cualquier actividad artesanal.&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-justify wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Mission 21 apoya a AI-ChrisWoV financieramente y proporcionando asesoramiento experto sobre el desarrollo organizativo. AI-ChrisWoV es una asociaci\u00f3n ecum\u00e9nica y sin \u00e1nimo de lucro de la regi\u00f3n noroeste de Camer\u00fan. Fue fundada en noviembre de 2000 por un grupo de mujeres de la Iglesia Presbiteriana de Camer\u00fan (PCC).<\/span> Actualmente, la organizaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n es miembro de Alliance 23, que tambi\u00e9n es una organizaci\u00f3n asociada a Mission
