Why does the world's most important art fair take place in Basel and why was there a "Picasso affair" here? Mission 21's new city tour takes you to famous and unknown works of art and their connection to (de)colonialism in Basel.

Art has been of great importance in and for Basel for centuries - whether it's the "ArtBasel" art fair or famous artists such as Hans Holbein, Pablo Picasso or Paul Gauguin. On a two-hour walk through the city, we will take you to famous and unknown works of art, tell you interesting facts about their background and their relationship to colonialism.
