Discoveries in the cultural heritage room: women's voices

On a journey through time in the historical research archive of the Basel Mission and Mission 21, the voices of women in the mission in the 19th and early 20th centuries are brought to life using original documents. Missionary history is also a history of women's emancipation. The documents not only allow women employed in the mission to talk about their tasks, motivation and living conditions, but also reveal a great deal about the lives of indigenous women in the mission areas in Asia and Africa.
