Meetings in Zanzibar, Tanzania

For the first time, they felt seawater on their feet, they boarded an airplane for the first time, and they traveled by ship for the first time: For the women of the Tanzanian sewing group "Pamoja Tunaweza," their trip to Zanzibar was an exciting experience.

The trip was organized by Claudia Zeising, who vividly recounts her experiences in Zanzibar in her new newsletter. Zeising has been coordinating Mission 21's projects in Tanzania for a year and a half and provides further training for local staff. This training also included the study trip, where the women found inspiration for their handicraft work.

A particularly important part of the trip was the encounter with Muslims, who welcomed the Christian guests hospitably and openly. In Tanzania, where prejudices and fears towards other religions are increasing, such positive everyday experiences are very important.

Mission 21 thanks Claudia Zeising for her dedicated work. She helps to ensure that the projects of our partner churches continue to develop and that new perspectives become visible.
