50 years ago, Yvonne and Ueli Zimmer came to Sabah with the then Basel Mission. They helped to establish the Protestant Church in Sabah (PCS), which is still a partner church of Mission 21 today. After their return to Switzerland in 1973, they continued to be involved with the Rungus ethnic group living in Sabah. In their newsletters they regularly reported on developments in the PCS. In their latest newsletter, they look back on their time in Sabah and describe how the lives of the Rungus have changed up to the present day.
Yvonne and Ueli Zimmer have made a significant contribution to enabling children from poor backgrounds in Sabah to receive a good education. Their exciting and touching reports will be missed. However, we will continue to publish stories from Sabah. The newsletters will now be written by Katharina Gfeller, who has been responsible for the Sabah-Malaysia program for many years.
Good reading on the last newsletter of the Zimmers!
