Knitting, shaping and felting at the 32nd Bern Workday

Practical work in a convivial environment: Ideas were put into practice at the workday in Bern. Photo Kevin Ischi.

In four courses, the participants of the Berner Werktag processed different materials. For example, small houses were felted, scarves knitted or wire figures turned.

The working day in Bern took place for the 32nd time. Ueli Burkhalter, Synodal Councilor of the Reformed Churches Bern Jura Solothurn, traditionally gave a greeting and thanked on behalf of the Synodal Council for the voluntary commitment in the sign of the worldwide church. This was followed by an input from Claudia Buess. The director of studies at Mission 21 gave a presentation on the UN's Agenda 2030 and drew a connection to the importance of bazaar work in Switzerland.

For the first time, a material exchange was also held during the workday. Participants could bring packaged materials and sell them to new buyers. The exchange was stocked with a wide variety of materials and met with a lively response.

We thank all participants for their participation, suggestions and interest!

Hope thanks to your support
