In Malaysia, our partner church awards BCCM BM (Christian Basel Church in Malaysia) regularly awards scholarships to students from economically disadvantaged communities. Support is given in particular to young women and members of minorities such as the Murut ethnic group. This spring, former scholarship recipients came together to form an alumni network. The goal is to support current students. "This alumni network is a tool for us to prove that we are committed to the sustainable education of the younger generation," said newly elected chairwoman Rositinah Andahang at the inaugural meeting. The board is composed entirely of women and is part of the BCCM BM. This shows that the former female scholarship holders can contribute their acquired knowledge and have an influence in their organization.
