The sixth episode of Mission 21's "Voices of Hope" podcast series reports on the work of our partner organization Machaqa Amawta in Bolivia against violence against women and children. A touching report about courage and perseverance.
In this episode of Voices of Hope, Hildegard Willer from Bolivia reports on the work of the Fundación Machaqa Amawta. The foundation, a partner organization of Mission 21, supports children and families who have been victims of sexual violence. We hear the moving story of Beatriz Veliz and her family, who found access to therapeutic help despite poverty and bureaucratic hurdles, and also of Yovana and Ruben, who are giving their autistic son new support through therapy.
Psychologists and other specialists provide support, work in prevention and train teachers so that children can be protected and difficult issues can be addressed. Mission 21 is committed to continuing these important projects in Bolivia in order to strengthen children and families in difficult situations.
This report from the Bolivian city of El Alto is the sixth and, for the time being, last episode of our podcast series from Latin America. However, "Voices of Hope" will be continued later - with new reports and features from other continents.
