More than 30 young adults from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America met in Switzerland for two weeks: as part of Mission 21's Youth Ambassadors program, they exchanged views on important topics, worked together in workshops and experienced enriching encounters. The visit of the international youth ambassadors also received positive media attention - in reports by reformiert., kirche heute and Radio Life Channel.
The newspaper reporter reformed. interviewed three Youth Ambassadors (JuBos for short) for her report: Clifford Ibrahim from Nigeria, Keshi Jomil from Malaysia and Raysa DÃaz from Peru. Entitled "Overcoming personal and cultural boundaries together", the report highlights the commitment of the young adults with a great deal of empathy. The JuBos openly describe their expectations of the program and their hopes of how they can make the exchange across cultural borders fruitful for a better future.
The report in the Roman Catholic parish magazine church today focuses on the portrait of a single JuBo, namely Musung Mun from South Korea. The editor conducted an in-depth interview with the young theologian, in which Musung talks about many fascinating things about Korean society, including critical observations about the churches in his country of origin. Musung Mun is committed to gender equality and social engagement.
Radio interview with young team leader
At the end of the Youth Embassy program Radio Life Channel spoke to Barbara Grass, head of the young@mission21 team at Mission 21. She takes stock of the intensive two weeks in Switzerland: How did the JuBos experience their time? How did they perceive Switzerland? What problems did they discuss? What solutions did they come up with? The interview shows very well that the Youth Embassy program offers an enriching opportunity for young people. And exchanges and encounters continue: next year, the JuBos from Switzerland and Germany will get to know the lives of their colleagues in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
