Women Make a Difference
Climate justice.
The climate crisis does not affect everyone equally.
The consequences of the climate crisis are exacerbating existing inequalities. People who are particularly affected are those who already face discrimination and have limited access to resources and political participation.
In rural regions of Latin America, Africa, and Asia, women often bear the primary responsibility for feeding, providing water, and caring for their families. As droughts become more frequent, soil erodes, and crops fail, this exacerbates existing inequalities.
At the same time, the voices of women are still not heard enough in the development of climate solutions. Yet they possess valuable knowledge about soils, seeds, and ecosystems and play an active role in shaping how natural resources are managed.
Women drive change.
Together with local partner organizations, Mission 21 supports initiatives that combine climate justice with the empowerment of women.
