Chibok Girls: New video surfaced

On April 14, 2014, Boko Haram kidnapped 276 schoolgirls in the town of Chibok. Most of them were members of the EYN church, Mission 21's partner church. Several of the schoolgirls have since escaped, been released or freed. However, around 100 young women remain under the control of Boko Haram.

Now a new video of the terrorist militia has surfaced. In it, the 14 young women declare that they want to stay with Boko Haram voluntarily. It remains unclear whether the young women were forced to make this statement. What is clear is that Boko Haram is using the video as propaganda material.

The goal of Boko Haram is to establish a strict Islamic state. They wage war cruelly and mercilessly. Kidnapping and enslavement are among their weapons of war. Already 20,000 people have lost their lives since the beginning of the conflict in Nigeria, millions are on the run.

Mission 21 supports the victims of Boko Haram and works for a peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.
