Across Switzerland, church bells will ring out on June 14, at 11 a.m. as a sign against violence against women, and at 3:30 p.m. to herald the actual strike - now women would be off work if they didn't have to work longer than men for their wages. In Basel, women will be making stops at various churches on June 14, among other places, to draw special attention to gender equality in the church on the day of the national women's strike. In conjunction with the "IG Feminist Theologians," the Women and Gender staff unit of Mission 21 is participating in the actions - and invites those interested to attend. A short service will be held at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Church. Together, the "church women" will then move on to other churches. At 3 p.m. they will meet in the Elisabethen Open Church. This will be followed at 3:24 p.m. by the gathering for the official demonstration on Theaterplatz.
