16 days against violence against women: The international "16 days" campaign 2022 ends today, December 10, Human Rights Day. Mission 21, active in program and project work for gender justice, has co-sponsored this campaign and our youth network young@mission21 has participated with this year's JointAction.
The "16 Days against Violence against Women" focused this year on feminicide, the killing of women because they are women. It was very impressive how many organizations and individuals drew attention to the problem with contributions in the social media and with discussion events, with actions and manifestations, triggered the talking about it and contributed to making the commitment against violence against women visible and audible. For example, at the Website of cfd; the feminist peace organization had the lead of the campaign in Switzerland.
Also in JointAction, the international advocacy campaign of young@mission21The picture that emerged was one of commitment. Numerous posts provided food for thought and expressions of solidarity from the Mission 21 youth network.
Partner churches and organizations of Mission 21 that are committed to gender justice were also active. Statements can also be found on our Facebook page, for example an impressive Video of the organization Machaqa Amawta from Bolivia.
The 16 Days Against Violence Against Women 2022 campaign has ended - the campaign against violence against women and for gender justice continues. Mission 21 is fully committed to this.
