People come together for the Easter March to set a common example for peace, solidarity and human rights. The Easter march brings together committed people from different areas of society who are campaigning against war, armament and injustice and for a more peaceful world. This rally for peace and justice has its roots in the 1960s and has been held every year since 2003.
The meeting starts at 1.15 p.m. in Eichholz an der Aare (accessible by streetcar line 9, to Wabern terminus), where the event will begin with a welcome address by Virginia Köpfli, President of the peace organization Frieda, is opened. To 1.30 p.m. the march starts towards the city center.
The event concludes at 14.30 The closing rally will take place on Münsterplatz at 8 p.m. with speeches from politics and civil society. The event will be accompanied by music from Olga Tucek, who will provide an artistic accent with her voice, words and accordion. There will also be games for children.
