Donation of Gifts to Help Young People Get a Secure Start to Their Careers in Tanzania

CHF 70.00

With this gift donation, you’ll enable a young artisan in Tanzania to take the direct path to self-employment. Mission 21’s vocational training project specifically supports young women and people with disabilities, who are often disadvantaged in the job market. After successfully completing their apprenticeship, your contribution will fund a suitable toolkit for their respective trade—the foundation for a reliable, independent income.

A solid vocational training program gives young people in Tanzania the opportunity to earn a reliable income and build an independent future. But the transition from the training workshop to the working world is a major hurdle: After completing their apprenticeship, many lack the money to purchase their first set of tools for taking on jobs or setting up a small workshop.

Together with local educational institutions in the Mbeya region, Mission 21 is committed to promoting inclusion in practice. Young people—especially young women and youth with disabilities, who would otherwise have little access to education—learn practical trades such as carpentry, tailoring, electrical engineering, or mechanics. Complementary courses focused on personal development, as well as violence and HIV prevention, provide them with holistic support on their journey toward an independent life.

With your donation of CHF 70, you’ll help take concrete steps toward independence:

  • Job-Specific Tool Sets: A solid set of basic equipment (such as a toolbox or sewing machine) that allows recent graduates to take on their own projects right away.
  • Equal Opportunities for Women: Targeted support for young women in technical and skilled trades to promote financial independence and equality.
  • Inclusion of People with Disabilities: Accessible training programs and personalized support designed to specifically combat social exclusion.
  • Protection and Self-Assertion: Accompanying training programs on violence and HIV prevention that empower young professionals and boost their independence and self-confidence.
  • Economic Independence: Young professionals earn their own living and contribute their skills to the community.

Your donation will go directly to this vocational training project run by Mission 21.
