"Picturing the foreign: Clichés and thought patterns in international (development) cooperation"
Countries in the Global South are often classified as "underdeveloped" and in need of help. This is in contrast to countries in the Global North. Such ideas of development are partly based on racist clichés with roots dating back to the colonial era. We subject images and language in international ("development") cooperation to a critical check and identify anti-racist alternatives.
