In thoughts with the people of Ukraine: national bell ringing on March 9

The three Swiss national churches condemn Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. It is "a war that also threatens peace in Europe," they write in their appeal. They call on the Russian president to immediately stop the acts of war and prevent further suffering. This Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the bells of the churches will ring from 10 a.m. for three minutes. During the ringing, the churches invite all people in Switzerland to pause for this time and pray for peace.

As the official mission agency of the Swiss Protestant Reformed Church (EKS), Mission 21 supports this joint appeal of the EKS, the Swiss Bishops' Conference and the Christian Catholic Church of Switzerland. We hope that this sign of solidarity will strengthen all those who are active with actions that serve peace, emergency aid on the ground and the reception of refugees.
