The European Mission Council of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine had chosen Basel as this year's meeting venue. From September 2 to 4, representatives of Herrnhuter mission societies from Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland, as well as guest members from the USA, discussed and deliberated in the Mission House at Missionsstrasse 21.
The panel shared intensively about developments in the global areas of work. An important topic was also the area of the diverse interreligious and intercultural experiences that a worldwide church gathers. This became particularly clear during a visit by the Mission Council to the House of Religions in Bern, which exemplifies the coexistence of different religions in Switzerland.
Jochen Kirsch, the new director of Mission 21, emphasized on various occasions the great importance of the Herrnhut Mission for Mission 21, saying that the Herrnhut Mission as the sponsoring organization of the work is an enormous asset for Mission 21.
