The news from Nigeria reporting violence, kidnappings and attacks have become more numerous in recent weeks. Various Islamist terrorist groups have carried out attacks and murders, causing suffering among the Christian and also the Muslim population.

Mission 21 is concerned about the difficult situation especially for our partners in Nigeria. We stand in solidarity with them and they are in our thoughts and prayers. We support the people on the ground through emergency aid and reconstruction. We are in exchange with the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs, DFA.

Interfaith peace work is important

The current situation in particular shows how important it is to secure the livelihoods of the population and to provide food and medical care to people in need. Interfaith peace work is just as important. We are committed to building bridges across religious divides in order to promote understanding between peace-loving people of different faiths.
