NLEF, Nakowa Legacy Empowerment Foundation.
Established in 2017, the NLEF Foundation is based in Michika (northeastern Nigeria). Cooperation with Mission 21 began in early 2022. The organization's thematic focus is on empowering women as well as youth from different religious backgrounds through life skills and vocational training. Most of NLEF's beneficiaries are from Michika itself, with a few from neighboring communities. NLEF's main concern is to mitigate the effects of Boko Haram's terror, which has now lasted over ten years. Therefore, NLEF operates a center to serve as a safe place for beneficiaries to receive psychosocial support, life skills education, and vocational training. NLEF partners with the Women Ambassadorial Ministry (WAMI), Kamwe Christian Community Forum (KCCF), and the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria (FOM-WAN).
