LCGI, Global Initiative for the Support of the Needy
"Lifeline Compassionate Global Initiatives" (LCGI) is an interfaith peace organization based in Jos, led by Christians and Muslims, whose work benefits both religious groups. LCGI was formed in response to ongoing tensions between the religious groups that had erupted in violence on several occasions. Its focus is on building everyday relationships between Christians and Muslims through practical conflict prevention projects. LCGI has had valuable successes, for example, in conducting job-enhancing training courses with religiously and ethnically mixed participants. What all of LCGI's activities have in common is that they always include an interfaith and peacebuilding component. It has been recognized by the state as a non-governmental organization since 2010.
